BIOGRAPHY
Véronique Besançon, born in Marrakech in 1959 to a French father and a Russian-Hungarian mother, relocated to Paris with her family in 1965. Initially pursuing university studies in clinical psychology, her fascination with the intricacies of human existence led her to explore pedagogy, particularly focusing on personal development. In 1997, she found herself in Montreal, embracing Quebec as her new home, and embarked on a career as a consultant in educational technology at the Université de Montréal. Alongside her professional endeavors, Besançon has always been dedicated to exploring innovative creative practices, including contemporary dance, theatre, automatic writing, and painting.
As a self-taught artist for over fifteen years, Besançon's artistic journey has centered on the fusion of pigments in a liberating expression of pictorial abstraction. Her work delves into the interplay of colors and words, reflecting her introspective exploration of human complexity. Through her art, she creates immersive worlds where characters engage in a dialogue, evoking places, moments, and personal revelations that serve as the genesis of stories, ultimately revealing the essence of humanity. Documenting her artistic evolution through collections of paintings and poetry, Besançon continues to chart her creative path with unwavering curiosity and dedication.
