Biography

Pierre Lamoureux is a multifaceted Canadian artist born in Sudbury, ON, whose career spans abstract painting, music production and performance, film direction, and writing. He has won Grammy, Emmy, Juno, and Gemini Awards and gained worldwide recognition producing artists such as Rush, The Who, Zappa Plays Zappa, The Tragically Hip, and Alanis Morissette. His abstract paintings, characterized by bold colours and dynamic energy, reflect a blend of chaos and control, often inspired by music improvisation. As a writer, his poetry, short stories, and operatic libretto will soon be published, alongside screenplays in development for feature films. He played bass in Brasse-Camarade, the Frayed Edge and other bands, recording a dozen albums, achieving success in Canada and Portugal.

Now splitting his time between Nashville and Montreal, Pierre draws inspiration from both cities' cultural richness—the soulful, collaborative energy of Nashville in compliment with the avant-garde creativity of Montreal. His work transcends boundaries, with exhibitions planned across North America and Europe, solidifying his reputation as an influential voice in contemporary art through music, film, writing, and visual storytelling.
