Sean Mollitt
Biography
The son of a professional photographer, Sean Mollitt has been immersed in photography and digital imagery since the dawn of digital technology. After completing his Fine Arts program at St. Lawrence College in the mid-eighties, he moved to the UK, where he purchased his first graphics-capable computer and spent the next few years embracing the digital realm. Throughout the nineties, he worked as a freelance graphic designer and art director for some of Montreal's leading advertising agencies, while also teaching courses in computer graphics and 3D animation at Dawson College.
In the late nineties, he co-founded E-design Inc., one of Montreal's pioneering new media and Internet companies, which was acquired by Quebecor in 1997. The following year, he co-founded Conceptis Technologies, a world leader in online medical education, which was acquired by WebMD in 2005.
In 2005, with the release of Canon's first full-frame digital camera, Sean reignited his passion for photography and established himself as a full-time professional under the brand FOTAU.com. He has since worked in fashion, sports, portrait, and event photography. In recent years, he has pushed the boundaries of digital imagery by blending his technical expertise with his creative eye, experimenting with immersive VR, 360-degree photography, drone image capture, and the latest advancements in AI-augmented imagery.
