Biography
Ponie O began her artistic career in 1989, initially represented by gallerist Steve Feinman and the Multiple Impressions Gallery in Soho, New York. Over two years, she held solo exhibitions in both New York and Providence, Rhode Island. During this period, her work gained international acclaim, selling across the UK, Canada, and Japan.
Recently, Ponie O's art has been featured in notable events such as the Clio Art Fair in New York, the Alive Inside gallery group show in Manhattan's Lower East Side, Art Aspen in Colorado, and the SOFA show (Sculpture Objects Functional Art and Design) in Chicago.
In 1991, Ponie O (also known as Rona Oberman) took a hiatus from her artistic pursuits to concentrate on her career as a creative director in advertising in New York City. During her tenure at prominent agencies such as McCann-Erickson and J. Walter Thompson, she received numerous accolades, including the Cannes Lion, the Art Directors Award, the Kelly Award, three Effies, and the London International Advertising Award..
